Obituary for Albert G. Schwarzer

Albert G. Schwarzer, “Abo” to most, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at his home in Streetman, TX, at the age of 95.

Abo was born June 24, 1927 in Austin to parents Walter and Pearl (Knudsen) Schwarzer. He married Mary Frances Lane December 8, 1948, and together they raised two daughters. He began his career with the TXU System of Companies in Rockdale, which spanned over 40 years and many different mines and capacities, retiring in 1992.

Abo loved raising cattle, hunting and trapping hogs, and salt water fishing. The love he had for his family was endless, and spending time with his grand and great grandchildren was a special treat for everyone.

Left to survive him is daughter Tena Young and husband Roger, and daughter Lynn Cooper and husband Bobby. Grandchildren include Jacob Young and wife Kendra, Sally Speck and husband Alex, Sara Ferguson and husband Jeremy, Boone Cooper and wife Lindsey, and Jillian Keeney and husband Travis. Great grandchildren are Norah, Asher, and Eliza Kate Young, Lilly and Charlie Speck, Andi Ferguson, Rhett, Reid, and Cade Cooper, and Cooper and Lane Keeney. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and a host of wonderful and dear friends.

Preceding him in death is Mary, his wife of 52 years, his parents, brother Walter Schwarzer, and sister Bess Levell.

Services will be held March 15, at Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield, with Bubba Rutherford officiating, and Leslie Freeman providing the music. Serving as pallbearers are Roger Young, Jacob Young, Jeremy Ferguson, Boone Cooper, Jim Dixon, and Rob Trimble.
