Obituary

Billie Frank Dunbar, 80, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 in Sunnyvale, Texas. Mr. Dunbar was born July 21, 1940 in Fairfield to parents Posey Frank and Hester Louise Day Dunbar. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a retired inspector for the City of Dallas. In Dallas he met and married Patricia; his wife of 37 years and she preceded him in death in 2013. Following Patricia’s death, he returned to his family’s home in Fairfield. Billie never met a stranger and wore a smile with every encounter. He spent his time helping neighbors and friends whenever they needed a hand. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. Truly a man of honor who loved and supported his family. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Nathaniel Ryan Dunbar and Caleb Ray Dunbar; and a cousin, Buddy Turner.
Left to cherish his memory are five children, Jennifer Dunbar; Heather Saunders and husband Stephen; Kevin Dunbar; Carrie Hudson and husband Richard; Wayne Dunbar and wife Melanie; grandchildren, Zoe, Spencer, Benjamin, Chelsey, Courtney, Christinia and Robby; great-grandchildren, Culv; River; and Maddalyn; and special friends Sara Stubbs, Wayne and Peggy Ward, Myrtle Lee and Jerry McSwane.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc
