Bryan Jordan, 71, of Dawson, died Thursday, September 5, 2019 at his residence in Dawson. Bryan E. Jordan, III was born June 22, 1948 in Snyder, Texas to parents Bryan E. Jordan, Jr. and Juanita Pitner Jordan. He had been a resident of Navarro County since the age of six. Bryan was a 1966 graduate of Corsicana High School and a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church. Bryan served his country in Vietnam as a member of the United States Marine Corps from September 19, 1966 to September 3, 1968. In addition to the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, Machine Gunner Badge and Sharpshooter Badge he also earned the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in combat. Bryan was a lifetime member of Navarro County Memorial Post 3366 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Johnson-Wiggins Post 22 American Legion where he was a past commander. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Frank Jordan.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Wanda of Dawson; three daughters, Candace Luther and husband Michael of Buckeye, AZ; Carrie Stroud and husband Ricky of Montgomery, TX; Michele Craig of Dawson, TX; three grandchildren, Isadora Jordan, Nathaniel Martin and Jordan McIntire; two brothers, Chris Jordan of Rockport, TX; Paul Jordan of Corsicana and several nieces.
