Christopher Scott (Chris) McCalman, 45, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his residence. Chris was born July 31, 1972 in Dallas to parents Joe and Janice Pruitt McCalman. Chris graduated from Cy-Fair High School near Houston and earned his BA degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. For a number of years Chris served as a youth pastor in several Baptist Church’s but his most important role was that of a youth pastor at the church his grandfather, Donald Pruitt pastored in Centerville. Chris also pastored Northside Baptist Church in Anson, Texas. He had been a resident of Fairfield since July 2013 having moved from New Braunfels, Texas
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Joe and Janice McCalman of Fairfield; a sister, Lara Shipp and husband John of Baytown; niece and nephew, Brittany and Michael Shipp of Baytown; two aunts, Dusty Pruitt of Santa Fe, NM and Cynthia Pruitt of Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 878 – Fairfield, TX 75840 or Fairfield Volunteer Fire Dept. at 221 S. Keechi – Fairfield, TX 75840
