Marie Matthews Collie, 83, of Fairfield, Texas went to be with her heavenly father on January 21, 2020. Born July 19, 1936 in Cameron, Texas, she is predeceased in life by husband and father of her children, Robert L. Matthews, Jr., husband Lee Wayne Collie, and son H.B. “Bart” Matthews.
Marie was a retired officer of First National Bank in Fairfield and former volunteer worker of First Baptist Church, Fairfield. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling, gardening, reading, crocheting, sewing and spending time with family.
Survivors include two of her three children, Darla Matthews and Lisa Dotson, both of Fairfield, Texas; step daughters, Aleatris Stanley of Double Oak, Texas; Jennifer Capers of Wortham, Texas; grandchildren Kendall Walker of Bryan, Texas and Chase Siner of Fayetteville, Arkansas; honorary grandchildren, Michael and Justin Hayes of Woodward, Oklahoma; step-grandchildren Chase Pritchard of Roanoke, Texas; Tyler Pritchard of Fort Worth, Texas; Manton Capers of Austin, Texas; Logan Capers of Tyler, Texas; Jack Tanner Stanley of Double Oak, Texas.
Marie will be remembered for her beautiful singing and her sweet, loving spirit.
