Helen Patricia (Patsy) Ahlfinger, 87, of Fairfield, left this earth and entered her heavenly home on May 23, 2021. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at First United Methodist Church of Fairfield. Interment will follow at Faulkenberry Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas next to her husband Joe D. Ahlfinger who preceded her in death in 2009. Pallbearers will be her son, Perry Ahlfinger, son-in-law Chris Breeds, grandson Aaron Ahlfinger and great-grandsons, Logan Escobar, Jordan Lloyd, and Preston Batts.
Patsy was born in Galveston, TX on July 13, 1933 to parents Elizabeth Wright Van Houten and Wallace Van Houten. Patsy moved to Fairfield from Conroe in 1974 with her husband Joe who affectionately called her his Little Petunia. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. In her service to the Lord, she wrote a monthly “Prayer Calendar” for over 20 years and for the same time taught the Ora Tate Sunday School Class. She was blessed by the senior ladies in her care and loved them all until they were called home.
Patsy was a four-time past Matron of the Fairfield Chapter #331 Order of the Eastern Star. In her sixties she was actively involved Girl Scout Leadership and continued to be a troop leader to young girls. In the 90’s she wrote two devotional books and several books of poetry about her love for the Lord. She LOVED Gospel Music.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Albert D. Ahlfinger and her brother, William Van Houten.
Patsy is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Chris) Breeds of Snoqualmie, WA and Paulette Thornburg of Corsicana. Her sons, William (Grace) Andrews of Las Vegas, Perry (Karen) Ahlfinger of Tucson, AZ, and H.E. Andrews of Denton, TX; Twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a brand new great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving a very special brother-in-law John Thomas Ahlfinger of Palestine, TX, numerous nieces and nephews and a faithful and loving friend Loretta Frazier of Fairfield.

Beyond imagination Lord is the love you have for me,
You wore the Crown,
Carried the Cross,
And died to set me free.
I am weak and unworthy,
You are perfect and pure,
Yet because of your unspeakable gift,
My redemption was secure.
Thank you, Precious Jesus,
I praise and worship Thee.
For its beyond imagination,
Lord, this love you have for me.

Words can not express the love that I have for you. We shared a bond that no one can ever take. Our Thursday prayer calendar day. I thank you for all the love that you gave me and my family. I am going to miss you, but I am glad that you have found your peace. I know you are smiling because you are with the Lord and your loving husband. Love you always, Tonya
