Obituary for JANET JONES
Janet Jones 59, of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at her residence. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Carlile Family Cemetery in Freestone County. Lifelong friend Ricky Choate officiating. Pallbearers are David Jones, Hershell Jones, Jake Jones, Brad Jones, Leonard Jones and Gus Jones. Honorary bearers are Brandon Breedlove and Kyle Baumgartle.
Janet was born December 27, 1961 to parents James Erskin and Ruby Jane Rogers Harper. She resided in Palmer, TX before moving to Fairfield. She married Leonard B. (Bud) Jones on June 22, 1982 in Roswell, NM and had been a Freestone County resident for 18 years. She was known for her love of music, traveling and interior decorating. She had a style of her own, pioneering the “Trash to Treasure” long before it became “a thing”. She was also an avid animal lover; her children would say she loved animals more than she loved most people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debra Lee Greenlee and a grandson, Dillion Hornik.
Left to cherish her memory are a husband, Bud Jones and five children, David Jones and wife Dee Jones of Fairfield, TX; Hershell Jones and wife Wendy Jones of Fairfield, TX; Stormy Hornik and Dale Duggins of Corsicana, TX; Jake Jones and wife Trista Jones of Blanchard, OK; Natasha Jones and Brandon Breedlove of Waco, TX; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
