Jonathan Leon Snider

On Sunday, February 19, 2023, Jonathan Snider, loving husband and father of five children, passed away at the age of 46.

Jonathan was born on November 1, 1976 in Teague, Texas to Freddie Snider and Joann (Clemmons) Lewton. On November 11, 2010, he married Michelle Chesshir Nall. Jonathan was a talented diesel mechanic and worked for Southern Transportation in Midland, Texas. He was baptized into the Church of Christ on April 11, 2021.

Jonathan had a passion for mechanics and would often help friends and family with vehicle and mechanical issues. He also enjoyed smoking and barbecuing meats for cookouts. Always one to make everyone smile, Jonathan loved to laugh, make jokes, and play pranks. A generous and lovable man, he always had a positive word no matter the difficulties of life.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Joann. He is survived by his wife Michelle Snider of Fairfield, TX, brother Chris Snider and wife Misty of Carlsbad, NM, brother Michael Snider and girlfriend Jennifer of Conroe, TX, sister Jennifer Haydon and husband Jeffery of Fairfield, TX, son Christopher Joseph Smith and wife Caitlyn of Lone Grove, OK, daughter Amber Snider of Buffalo, TX, daughter Brianne Bell and husband Bobby of Fouke, AR, son Zackary Snider of Lemoore, CA, son Bailey Snider of Dennison, TX, grandchildren Maycee Lynn Smith, KeyGan Anthony Smith, William Leon Matthew Winstead, McKenna Faith Ann Raley, Harley Nicole Grace Raley, Blake Snider, and Cameron Snider, and beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Capps Funeral Home in Fairfield, TX. A graveside service will be held at Shanks Cemetery on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00am.

Pallbearers include Christopher Joseph Smith, Zackary Snider, Michael Snider Jr., Jacob Snider, Steven Snider, and Christopher Snider Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bailey Snider and Bobby Bell.

Officiant is Scot Ratcliff.



The family would like to send a special thanks to Kaye Murray, Tamara McCay, and Linda Ratcliff for their hospitality during Jonathan’s cancer treatments and their invaluable assistance through this difficult time.
