Obituary for Kenneth Wayne Key
Kenneth Wayne Key passed away on December 2, 2022 in Palm Springs, California at the age of 86. A private graveside service will be held on Monday December 12, 2022, at the Antioch Cemetery in the Turlington community east of Fairfield, Texas.
Kenneth, or “Bo” as he was nicknamed by his family, was born on October 16, 1936, in the Turlington community. He was the second of three children born to Earnest Jackson and Emma “Sweetie” Key.
Kenneth attended Fairfield schools where he graduated as the Salutatorian of the class of 1955. In the early 1960’s, he joined the Army and was stationed in Kansas. Later, he worked in the accounting department of several companies in the Houston area prior to his retirement.
“Bo” was a skilled pianist. His concentration was on classical music and one of his particular favorites being Chopin’s Military Polonaise.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and “Sweetie” Key and brother Maxie Glenn. He is survived by his sister, Shelba Black, nephews Bud Black, Steve Black, and Michael Key, niece Tambra Dazey and sister-in-law Kay Key, all of Fairfield, along with numerous cousins, and friends, including Paul Hermann of Palm Springs, CA.
