Obituary for MACARIA LOPEZ DUARTE

Macaria Duarte was born in Palencia Guatemala on Jan. 2, 1939. She was the third child out of ten children. She arrived in Houston, Texas in 1978 to start her “American Dream”. In 1982 she moved to Fairfield and for forty years that was the place she was proud to call home. Macaria Durate was pastor of “Pentecostes Maranatha” until she was unable to. Her “American Dream” was really God’s dream. Spreading the love of Jesus, teaching her family, friends, strangers and anyone she came in contact with.
Macaria enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, cooking, sewing, singing, worship music and above all Predicando la palabra de Dios. Macaria was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Paula Lopez Lemuz and her husband Ramon Duarte, two sisters, Ursela Lopez and Maria Magdalena and a brother, Jose R. Lopez.
Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Elvia Veliz of Fairfield; a son, Jorge A. Curan of Guatemala; a daughter, Sandra Reyes and husband Matias of Fairfield; a daughter Thelma Cordon of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Fermin Lopez and Mariano Lopez; four sisters, Tomasa Lopez, Florencia Lopez, Martina Lopez and Ursula Lopez all from Guatemala; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
