Sara Lou Stubbs of Fairfield passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023
Sara was born April 12, 1945 to Joe Bailey Ward and Dessie Evelyn Ward, in Fairfield, Texas.
Sara remained in Freestone County, Texas for her lifetime. She retired from The State of Texas as a correctional officer. Sara enjoyed cooking, collecting clocks, watching baseball, fishing, and riding through the pastures looking at their cows. She had big blue eyes and an unforgettable laugh. If you ever met her, you'd know you had encountered a force of nature.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents: husband Jerry Stubbs, and nephew, Jody Ward. Sara is survived by: brother, Wayne Ward and Peggy; niece Wayna Knight and husband Lloyd; son Michael Childress and wife Brandy; grandson Joe Childress; great nephews Doug Ward, Jody Ward, and Byron Ward, and great niece, Keitha Batey, along with numerous loved family members too great to list.
