After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Terry Maurice Simonson died peacefully at home on October 4, 2022 at age 76. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Terry was born in Missoula, Montana on January 16, 1946 to mother Patricia Hayes and father Maurice Simonson. He played football at the University of Nebraska and served in the U.S. Army for four years. Once honorably discharged, he went on to have a successful career in the oil and gas industry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the outdoors. In retirement, Terry found joy in writing fiction novels and has published several books.
Terry is preceded in death by his brother, Jay Kilmer, and his sister, Judy Opie. He is survived by his wife, Alena Jonas; his three daughters - Tracy Loftin, Erika Simonson, and Katelin Stewart; his two grandchildren – Matthew Darbonne and Stella Martin; and five siblings - Ted Simonson, Gail Witzel, Bill Kilmer, Sue Kilmer, and Jeanna Wisher.
