Obituary for WILLIAM (BILL) WATSON

William Casey (Bill) Watson, 71, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Fairfield. Bill was born August 27, 1949 in Mexia, Texas to parents Raymond Ray and Sally Elizabeth Lawson. Bill served from 1969 to 1975 in the U.S. Army; stationed in Germany as a guard over nuclear missiles. Bill was an A-1 automotive mechanic. He was an avid fisherman and loved bowling and motorcycle riding. He was a lifetime member of Bass Masters and a former member of the Fairfield Bass Club. Bill was a God-fearing man and a member of First Baptist Church where he was a part of the Willie Ward Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Cawthorne, Raymond Ray Watson, Jr., Jerry Don Watson; one sister, Norma Jean Watson Owens; mother-in-law, Bessie Mae Speed; brothers-in-law, Bobby Wayne Speed, Robert Glen Speed, Jerry Speed; sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Speed and Donna Kay Bishop.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Dixie Speed Watson of Fairfield; a daughter, Nancy Watson Randall (Matt) of Southlake, TX; a brother, Larry Wayne Watson of Elgin, OK; sisters-in-law, Terry Watson of Madisonville, TX; Cynthia Speed of Corsicana, TX; Jeanette Stark (Wayne) of Teague, TX; Patsy Stark; Marsha Speed, Carolyn Stark (Glenn), Mary Stark (Kenneth) and a brother-in-law, Johnny Speed all of Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
