Jerry Wayne  Brim
Coach Jerry Brim of Fairfield, Texas left this earth to return to his Heavenly Father on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the age of 78 after a lengthy illness.
Jerry was born in Overton, Texas on May 2, 1940 to E.C. and Mary Jones Brim. He grew up in Hawkins, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Billie Carroll Brim; daughters, Amanda Brim and Rachel Trotter (husband Chris); grandchildren, Kaylee Trotter, Ian Cruthirds, Carter Brim and Luke Brim; sister, Vicki Bailey; brother and sister-in-law, John and Dana Brim; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Nanny and Sheila Carroll; brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Amanda Carroll, Johnny and Geneva Carroll, Kathy and Phil Whatley, Jack and Kim Carroll, and Sara and B.D. Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry started his 30-year teaching and coaching career in Fairfield. He coached Fairfield High School to the state tournament in basketball and won a state championship in track with Hardin High School. Most of his life was spent as a teacher and coach at Barbers Hill, a small town near Houston. He returned to Fairfield in 2001 to enjoy his retirement. He was inducted into the Fairfield High School Educator Hall of Fame in 2010.
The 1966 Fairfield High School Basketball Team are honorary pallbearers.
